Seekers of Knowledge (SOK) is a fund set up to provide educational grants to students of the Sacred Knowledge.

We aim to provide assistance for serious candidates who are studying the Islamic Sciences with the aim of producing what Imam al-Ghazali calls 'Scholars of the Hereafter', those who act upon their knowledge.

The fund is maintained entirely through donations from individuals pledging to sponsor promising students whom wish to spend substantial time in education (usually overseas), however are unable to afford the associated expenses.

By the grace of Allah, several students have successfully completed their studies with funding from SOK and are now back in the UK and teaching in their communities.

Grant Details

Students are typically provided with an annual grant for the duration of their study, which ranges from 5-8 years depending on their level of Arabic experience. Grants are available to both single and married students.

Applications

We are currently accepting applications for Scholarships for up to 2 new students.

Potential candidates must be committed to a full course of study of the Islamic disciplines, usually overseas. Applications are open until end of June 2008, after which the SOK panel will select 1 or 2 suitable candidates.

To apply, please download both the SOK Application form and Application Procedure documents.
