History

The West London School of Islamic Studies (WLSIS) was inaugurated in May 2007 by Shaykh Dr Ridhwan Saleem of London.

Our Mission

WLSIS is simply to be a place of Islamic learning for students of all abilities.

Increasingly British Muslims are subjected to questions regarding their faith, often by themselves. By teaching Islam in a pure and preserved form, WLSIS enables individuals to come closer to its essence. Free from the confusion often embedded within the media, culture and modern day society.

WLSIS caters for all types of students. We offer a range of classes at various levels, which are open to brothers and sisters of all ages. Most of our teachers are members of the local community and therefore adept at tailoring and conveying information to benefit the target audience.

It is our hope that Allah the Transcendent and Exalted accepts our efforts, purifies our intentions, and makes WLSIS a centre for authentic traditional Islamic learning and spiritual guidance in the UK.

How Are We Funded ?

The School is currently funded through the generous donations of students and by individuals and businesses from the wider community. We greatly appreciate your regular donations for the sake of Allah to support our ongoing efforts in this regard.

What We Teach

WLSIS aims to cater for all types of students of Islamic knowledge, we offer a range of classes at various levels which are open to brothers and sisters of all ages.

Our students vary from those Muslims who simply wish to learn the Islamic rules of what is personally obligatory upon them including: individual worship, interpersonal dealings, inner purification, to those who wish to study further and become preachers, imams, teachers, or scholars.

What Does it Cost to Attend?

Most of our classes incur a small one off registration fee (usually £25), students can also sign up for a WLSIS Student Pass which offers several benefits for just £25 per month. However, nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.

How Do I Register ?

Please visit the classes page for any specific registration requirements. In most cases, students are welcome to attend and register on the day of the course.

Sacred Knowledge

We are committed to preserving the pure tradition of Islam, representing the light that flowed from the most illuminated soul in human history, the Prophet Muhammad (may the mercy of Allah and peace be upon him and his family).

Our teaching is that of the people of Sunnah and Jama’ah, a teaching that has been preserved through the generations, guarded from the time of the Companions, by one pious heart to the next, in an unbroken chain of transmission. Our mission is to preserve this blessed teaching for the benefit of mankind.

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported, The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:

"He who goes forth in search of knowledge is considered as struggling in the Cause of Allah until he returns.'' [At-Tirmidhi].
